Tensiometers are by far the most exact and highest resolution tools for analysing soil water potential in the wet end. UMS’s line of tensiometers are engineered and produced with extreme tolerances, giving them the best performance characteristics of any tensiometers ever made.

T4 Field Tensiometer

Default field tensiometer. Only the ceramic cup is filled with water to improve precision and offer year-round use. Optional external refilling: The model T4e with external refilling can be refilled & emptied without removal from the soil.

 

T5 Laboratory Tensiometer

Rapid-response mini-tensiometer for analysing water potential in small spaces like soil columns, potted plants, and laboratory water flow experiments. Can be used to make spot measurements in the field if careful.

 

T8 External Refilling Field Tensiometer

Field tensiometer’s water level indicator tells you when you need to refill. Also measures temp and has an external refilling possibility.

 

TS1 Smart Tensiometer

The world’s primary “smart tensiometer.” Designed for installation in the field and to then be left alone. The TS1 logs water potential data, self-refills using nearby soil moisture, monitors temperature, and self-empties when the temperature approaches freezing to prevent damage.

Accessories

Auger Kits for Pore Water Samplers and Tensiometer

The cutting edge of the auger has a tapered tip alike the shape of a Tensiometer or pore water sampler. Thus, the bore hole is big enough to fit the shaft, but the cup will have a secure, perfect fit to the soil.

 

The not recommendable slurrying of the cup with quartz clay can be avoided.

A divisible auger set includes:

  • Cutting edge with tapered tip
  • Handle with hammering head

Parts have threaded connection and can be extended with one or more 100 cm extension rods.

The INFIELD7 is a multi-functional handheld read-out unit for all UMS tensiometers. Download readings to PC with accessory USB converter

Lab Refill Kit for Tensiometers

Lab refill kit for tensiometers (includes T4 and T8), includes stand with clamps, adapter that attaches to the sensor body, 500 mL bottle, pressure gauge, tubes, beaker, and refilling syringe.

Refill Kit for External Refillable Tensiometers

Refill kit for external refillable tensiometers (includes T4e and T8), includes hand-operated vacuum pump, 500 mL bottle, refill syringe, tubes and valves.t

T5 Refill Kit & Tool Set

The T5 Refill kit & tool set contains all the refill equipment needed to properly refill your T5 tensiometer. It also includes an Auger kit and connecting cable for Campbell Scientific Dataloggers.

TensioLINK USB converter

The tensioLINK USB converter is used for directly linking sensors and devices with serial tensioLINK to a PC. You are able to configure features and print out measured data.

UMS devices with 8pin M12 connectors (e.g. TS1 or T8 tensiometers) could be directly linked to the converter without the need for another power supply. The sensor is powered via the USB interface.

Use with the PC-Software tensioVIEW. Manual Software and Driver come along with supplied CD.
