The BVM volume analyzer utilises laser mapping  to accurately measure size  and volume of bakery products in a few seconds.

It uses Laser topography to measure volume with greater accuracy than traditional methods, and the performs volume analysis in only seconds. A laser sensor moves in a semicircle around the rotating product, which means you will get accurate readings also for awkwardly shaped products. The length/height, width, depth and weight (optional) are measured and all the information is displayed on a computer screen together with a 3D, rotatable diagram of the product.

 

Operation and handling

  1. The product is attached to a support shaft to ensure a secure position throughout the measurement.
  2. Input the parameters for your product and start the measurement.
  3. The laser sensor will move in a semicircle around the rotating product.
  4. After the measurement, a 3-D model is displayed on the screen.
  5. The results are displayed in a table and stored in a database for quick access.

* LC = Load Cell. The BVM can be equipped with a load cell. Weigh products up to approx. 1 kg in BVM 100 & 190 and up tp approx. 3 kg in BVM 370 & 450.

PC Requirements

A PC with the following specifications is required:

  • Operating system: Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7
  • Processor: 1.6 Ghz
  • RAM: 512 MB
  • Disk space: At least 100 MB

1 USB port and one RS-232 port need to be available.

Accessories
To be able to get a reliable volume, the product must be attached securely to the instrument, using a suitable attachment. The attachments are put on the support shafts. The instruments come with three support shafts in varying lengths. Custom made attachments and support shafts are available for unique needs.

This is used for smaller products like cookies, pralines and candy. These are more often used in the smaller sized instruments. These are mostly used for thin products, like apple strudel and baguettes.

These are used for circular products and range from a diameter of 30 mm to 280 mm for larger circular products like pizzas. These are used for most products. They exist in many varying sizes for smaller and larger products. The nails can be 10 or 20 mm in height.
